Henry Campion

 

1680-1761

Henry Campion was the son of William Campion, of Combwell Manor in Kent.  After school in Enfield, Middlesex, he matriculated at Trinity as a Fellow-Commoner at the age of 17, in December 1698.  He was also admitted at Lincoln's Inn in 1697-8.

He lived at Danny Place, Sussex.  He may have been MP for East Grinstead in 1708, for Bossiney in 1710, and for Sussex in 1713.  He donated £50 for the repair and beautification of Trinity College Chapel in 1707.

He was buried at Hurstpierpoint, Sussex, where there is believed to be a memorial inscription to him.
