Thomas Bainbrig
1636-1703. Vice-Master; Rector of Orwell.
A minor Fellow in 1656, major Fellow in 1660. Bainbrig presented to the College Kneller’s painting of Charles Montagu, 1st Earl of Halifax.
Crest: a stag's head erased (with a jagged edge).
Arms: on a chevron between 3 martlets (swifts), 3 stags' heads caboshed (shown face-on and cut off immediately behind the ears).

Sacred to the memory of Thomas Bainbrig, D.D., who was Rector of Orwell and lately Vice-Master of the College. He was born in Cambridge on 26th June 1636 and died there on 16th August 1703 at the age of sixty-seven. |
