Cambridge Academy of Organ Studies

Event to mark the 350th anniversary of the birth of Nicolas de Grigny

A performance of De Grigny's Messe pour Orgue with alternatim plainchant by Organ Scholars from the University of Cambridge and a plainsong choir directed by Matthew Martin (Gonville & Caius).

The performance will be followed by a symposium in the Senior Parlour, Gonville & Caius College, when Edward Higginbottom and David Ponsford will discuss aspects of the Organ Mass and de Grigny's style and performance practices.

The Durham University Chamber Choir are looking forward to travelling over some hills and a few dales to perform a concerted showcase of their years’ repertoire! The concert will include highlights from all three programmes of the year, featuring English composers from the 15th to 21st centuries, Eastern Orthodox canon and American Folk tradition.
