Sacred to the memory of David Arthur Gilbert Hinks, Fellow and Bursar of the College.  Naturally endowed with an exceptionally sharp mind, and deeply imbued in literature, he later applied his intellect to business, achieving great fame as an administrator in both the College and the army.
A charming colleague, he would never settle for second best in anything he did.  He died, greatly mourned, in the College to which he devoted his whole life, on 2nd November 1948, still a young man, at the age of thirty-five.
